More than 5,500 people have registered for the Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race 2026, the most the run has ever drawn. The race was first limited to 4,000 entries. Organisers raised the cap after demand grew. It is the largest run in the Maldives. The race is on Friday, 20 November 2026, at Hulhumalé Central Park. Runners can enter the half marathon, the 10K or the 5K Open. Team categories are new this year. The course is certified by World Athletics. It was measured with the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races, known as AIMS. Eligible times can count toward World Athletics rankings. The race is also on the AIMS world running calendar. Dhiraagu has again dedicated the run to child protection. Non-profits can use the day to speak about children’s rights and raise funds.
