Finolhu to host wellness practitioner Dr Tridendra Shakya for seven-week residency
Finolhu Resort in Baa Atoll will welcome Dr Tridendra Shakya for an exclusive wellness residency from 15 December 2026 to 31 January 2027, offering personalised therapies and yoga sessions.
Finolhu, a Seaside Collection resort in the UNESCO-listed Baa Atoll, announced that it will host Dr Tridendra Shakya, a Nepal-born naturopathy specialist, for a seven-week residency at its Fehi Spa. The programme runs from 15 December 2026 through 31 January 2027 and is aimed at guests seeking a more mindful approach to wellbeing.
Residency programme and therapies
Dr Shakya brings 17 years of experience in holistic health, drawing on ancient Eastern healing traditions and modern wellness practices. During the stay he will provide a range of personalised treatments, including Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture, reflexology, cupping, manipulative massage and therapeutic yoga. Each guest will receive an initial assessment that incorporates pulse diagnosis, lifestyle and nutritional guidance, allowing the practitioner to tailor interventions to individual goals.
Signature experiences highlighted by the resort include “Yin & Pin”, a blend of gentle passive stretching and acupuncture designed to release muscular tension, and “Acu-Massage”, which combines acupuncture, Marma-point massage and cupping. A “Head to Toe Reviver” refines reflexology techniques for travellers recovering from long journeys.
The residency also offers movement-focused sessions such as therapeutic yoga, “Motion Meditation” – a synthesis of Tai Chi and Qi Gong with breath work – and Yoga Nidra, a guided meditation that promotes deep relaxation. Specialist modules address sleep, stress management, spinal care and traditional yogic cleansing, each commencing with a bespoke assessment.
Booking and additional information
Finolhu says initial consultations are complimentary and advance reservations are recommended. Guests can book the residency through the resort’s website or by contacting the resort directly. The programme is positioned as an extension of Finolhu’s existing Fehi Spa offering, capitalising on the island’s turquoise waters, powder-soft beaches and tropical vegetation to create a tranquil setting for restoration.
Finolhu, which operates 125 beachfront and over-water villas across four islands, remains popular with both honeymooners and families. The wellness residency adds a new dimension to its hospitality portfolio, inviting visitors to incorporate moments of self-discovery into their Maldivian stay.
