Former Liverpool FC defender Martin Kelly will coach young footballers at Avani+ Fares Maldives Resort in Baa Atoll from 15 to 18 November, the resort has announced.

The Exclusive Kids' Football Camp is open to children aged five to 13 of any skill level. It follows three camps at the resort led by former England and Liverpool striker Michael Owen, the most recent in October.

What the camp includes

  • Daily afternoon training sessions with Kelly

  • A welcome meet-and-greet

  • Beach games, pool parties and a FIFA video game tournament

  • An official camp kit with two personalised jerseys, shorts and socks

  • A final day where every child gets a medal and a certificate

"A football camp is about so much more than what happens on the pitch," Kelly said. He said he wanted to share what he had learnt in his career and "most importantly, have fun with the kids".

Who is Martin Kelly

Kelly came through the Liverpool academy and made 62 senior appearances for the club, and was part of the squad that won the League Cup in 2012. He later spent several seasons at Crystal Palace.

Price and package

Camp entry costs USD 399 per child. A five-night package starts at USD 3,784 per room for two adults and one child in a Premium Ocean View Room, with half-board meals, camp entry for one child, seaplane transfers, taxes and service charges included.

Avani+ Fares, in the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, was named Best Family Resort at the Travel Trade Maldives Awards 2026. Bookings are through the resort's reservations team.
